Yamagata – Mt. Zao – Yonezawa – Bandai Atami Onsen 山形 - 蔵王山 - 米沢 - 磐梯熱海温泉

Upon arrival at Yamagata Airport, coach transfer to Mt. Zao (蔵王山). With a height of 1841 meters, Mt Zao is one of the most prominent mountains in the Tohoku Region. Take the Mt. Zao Ropeway (蔵王ロープウェイ) and admire the Snow Monster, “Juhyo” (樹氷) which is only available in winter season. Created by the unique climate and trees of Zao Mountains, this beautiful work of nature is a must-see sight in Zao. After that, proceed to a local restaurant for lunch [Yonezawa Beef Hotpot Set]. After lunch, visit Uesugi Shrine (上杉神社), a shrine for one of the most powerful warriors of the civil war period. Finally, transfer to Bandai Atami Onsen town for check in. Tonight, enjoy your dinner at the hotel.

Bandai Atami Onsen – Ouchijuku – Aizu Wakamatsu – Niigata 磐梯熱海温泉 - 大内宿 - 会津若松 - 新潟

This morning, start your day at Scenic Thatched Rood Houses “Ouchijuku Village”, a former post town along the Aizu West Road trade route, which connected Aizu with Nikko during the Edo Period. After that, proceed to a local restaurant for lunch [Local Cuisine Wappa set]. After lunch, you will get to experience the folk arts – Akabeko Painting (赤べこ絵付け). Akabeko is a traditional toy from Aizu region and is very popular as charms to ward off sickness. Next, visit Wakamatsu Castle, also known as Tsuruga Castle, a concrete replica of a traditional Japanese castle in northern Japan. Tonight, dinner will be served at a local restaurant [Japanese Course]. The end of the day, transfer to Niigata city for hotel check in.

Day 3. Akabeko Painting

Niigata – Yudanaka Onsen 新潟 - 湯田中温泉

After breakfast, start your day at Northern Culture Museum (北方文化博物館), an open air museum in Niigata. It contains the well-known mansion of the wealthy farming family called “gono”, gardens and houses in Edo period. After that, let’s experience Japanese Rice Cracker Baking (30min) on your own and enjoy these freshly baked crackers. Next, proceed to a local restaurant for lunch [Kaisendon Set]. After lunch, continue your journey to Niigata City. Visit Sake Brewery (20min) for sake tasting. You also get to see displays of tools used in sake-making and different artefacts that show 200 years of sake-making history. Along the way to Yudanaka Onsen, let’s have a break time at Michino Eki Umiterasu Nadachi(道の駅うみてらす名立)where local products are sold. Tonight, hotel check in at Yudanaka Onsen town and dinner will be served at a hotel restaurant.




Day 5 BLD

Yudanaka Onsen – Nagano – Lake Suwa – Kamisuwa 湯田中温泉 - 長野 - 諏訪湖 - 上諏訪

After breakfast, head to Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park (地獄谷野猿公苑). It offers visitors the unique experience of seeing wild monkeys bathing in a natural hot spring. Accustomed to humans, the monkeys can be observed from very close distance and are especially photogenic when the area is covered in snow. Next, visit Zenkoji Temple (善光寺). Founded in the 7th century, it is one of the most important and popular temples in Japan and stores the first Buddhist statue that was brought into Japan. This afternoon, your lunch will be served at a local restaurant [Japanese set with Soba]. After lunch, continue your journey to Lake Suwa (諏訪湖). In winter, you can see the “Omiwatari” at the frozen Lake Suwa if you’re lucky! The end of the day, transfer to Kamisuwa town for hotel check in. Tonight, enjoy your dinner at the hotel.

Day 5. Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park

Kamisuwa – Oshino – Lake Kawaguchi 上諏訪 - 忍野 - 河口湖

This morning, transfer to a local farm and enjoy a superb quality taste of strawberries here with the Strawberry-picking activity. After that, head to Oshino Hakkai Village (忍野八海). A set of eight sacred ponds in the small village of Oshino, these eights springs are made by meltwater piled up on Mt. Fuji, filtered through lava for over ten years. This afternoon, your lunch will be served at a local restaurant [Hoto Hotpot Set]. After lunch, visit Fujiten Snow Resort. Enjoy your free and easy time at the snow resort. ** Equipment and Lifts are not included ** At the end of the day, transfer to Lake Kawaguchi for hotel check in. Tonight, enjoy your dinner at the hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to Gotemba Premium Outlets for shopping. The stores here are the outlets of internationally known brands of fashion, sports, food, household goods and electronics, and range from everyday items to luxury goods. Lunch is at your own expense at the mall. Next,
proceed to Lake Ashi where you can enjoy the scenery of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi by taking the Lake Ashi Cruise. And, also Hakone’s scenic panorama by taking Hakone Ropeway. Thereafter, transfer to Tokyo city for hotel check in. Tonight, enjoy your dinner at your own expense during free & easy time in Tokyo city.
