Upon arrival at Nagoya Airport, coach transfer to transfer Nagoya city and visit Nagoya Castle Park. In spring, you can enjoy the beauty of cherry blossoms alongside the impressive architecture of the castle. Next, proceed to a local restaurant for lunch [Hitsumabushi Set]. After lunch, transfer to Gujo Hachiman (郡上八幡), a small, riverside town in Gifu Prefecture. Stroll around on your own in this old town, signs of old Edo can be felt all throughout the streets. Finally, transfer to Takayama for hotel check-in. Tonight, enjoy your dinner [Japanese Kaiseki] at the hotel.
After breakfast, proceed to Takayama Morning Market. This market has stands that sell local crafts, snacks and farm produce such as vegetables, pickles and flowers. The next destination is Takayama Old Town. The Takayama old town has been beautifully preserved with many buildings and whole streets of houses dating from the Edo Period. After that, transfer to Shirakawago for lunch [Hoba Miso Set]. After lunch, stroll around on your own at Shirakawago Village (白川郷). Declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1995, they are famous for their traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses, some of which are more than 250 years old. Next, visit the Kenrokuen Japanese Garden (兼六園), one of Japan’s three most beautiful Japanese garden. Located on the heights of the central part of Kanazawa and next to Kanazawa Castle. Tonight, your dinner [Kaiseki Course] will be served at a local restaurant. Finally, transfer to Kanazawa hotel for check-in.
After hotel breakfast, transfer to Omicho Market. The market has been Kanazawa’s largest fresh food market since the Edo Period. While most shops specialize in excellent local seafood and produce, you can also find flowers, clothing, kitchen tools and more on sale. Next, enjoy a photogenic spot at 21st Century Museum Contemporary Art Kanazawa. After that, proceed to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, proceed to a local farm and enjoy Strawberry Picking (30min) which is in season! Continue your journey at Tojinbo Cliff, a 1km stretch of rocky coastline, found just north of Fukui City in Fukui Prefecture. The rock formations here are famous for their odd hexagonal shapes. At the end of the day, transfer to Awara Onsen for the hotel check-in. Tonight, enjoy your dinner [Japanese Kaiseki] and hot spring at the hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to Fukui and visit the Asuwa River row of Sakura Trees. This row of sakura trees is said to be one of the longest in Japan and has been chosen as one of the “Top 100 Cherry Blossoms Viewing Sites in Japan”. Next, transfer to Echizen for Soba Making Experience. This afternoon, your lunch will be the Soba that you made. After lunch, transfer to Mikata Goko Lake. Enjoy the spectacular view of Mikata Goko Lake Observatory by Ropeway “Rainbow Line”. Thereafter, transfer to Nagahama for hotel check-in. Tonight, enjoy your dinner [Japanese Kaiseki] at the hotel restaurant.
After breakfast, visit Hikone Castle (彦根城), a National Treasure and counted among the greatest castles in the world. This afternoon, lunch [Omi Beef Set] will be served at a local restaurant. Before transfer to Nara, let’s have a break time at La Collina, an unique dessert shop in Shiga Prefecture. It uses materials from local forests for its building, with grasses on its roof and wood on its wall, designed by Terunobu Fujimori. Next, visit Kiyomizu Temple (清水寺), with over 1200 years of history. It is one of the signature World Heritage sites in Kyoto. Take a stroll at Sannenzaka Area, which is one of the city’s best-preserved historic districts. It is perhaps the best place to experience the real Kyoto. Tonight, enjoy your dinner [Japanese Course] at a local restaurant. Finally, transfer to Kyoto hotel for check-in.
After breakfast, transfer to Arashiyama. Visit Togetsu Bridge and Bamboo Grove, where you can enjoy the beauty of cherry blossoms and also the natural forest of bamboo in Kyoto. This afternoon, your lunch will be served at a local restaurant [Chicken Sukiyaki Hotpot Set]. After lunch, transfer to Osaka city for hotel check-in. Tonight, enjoy your own dinner during your free and easy time in Osaka city.
