Upon arrival, head to Asahikawa via Sunagawa Highway Oasis.
Have lunch on your own at Asahikawa Ramen Village (旭川 ラーメン村), where 8 of Asahikawa’s most well known ramen shops are in one location. Over here, you are free to choose your favourite ramen (Own payment).
After that, warm yourself up with Sake Tasting at Otokoyama Sake Brewery(男山酒造). Additionally, get to see the step-by-step process of sake production through interesting displays and exhibits in this 340 years old brewery.
Thereafter, hotel check in and dinner will be served at hotel restaurant. (Kaiseki)
Start the day off with breakfast at your hotel. This morning, head to Sounkyo (層雲峡), which is a touristy hot spring resort town in Daisetsuzan. It has a nice village center, onsen baths and two famous and beautiful waterfalls. Visit famous Ginga & Ryusei Waterfalls (流星の滝) also known as “Husband & Wife Falls” and enjoy the scenery, as this is one of the most awesome sights with waterfalls falling 150 meters down.
After lunch at the local restaurant, continue your journey to the Okhotsk Drift Ice Museum (流氷館), which covers all aspects of sea ice. The sub-zero room allows you to experience – 20 ºC temperature whereas the “Frozen Aquarium” displays various fish preserved in ice.
Thereafter, proceed to hotel check in and dinner will be served at the hotel restaurant. (Buffet)
This morning, head to Tashikaga area (弟子屈町) to see beautiful natures. Visit Mt. Io (硫黄山), an active 500 meters high volcano, where acid smokes and solid sulfur can be seen. Move on to Lake Kussharo (屈斜路湖) , the largest crater lake in Japan with a circumference of 57 km. Enjoy an impressive onsen Sunayu (砂湯), where hot water is directly surfacing on a beach! After lunch at the local restaurant, you will transfer to Lake Akan (阿寒湖) visit Lake Mashu (摩周湖), which is one of the world’s clearest, most transparent lakes.
Thereafter, transfer for hotel check in and dinner will be served at the hotel restaurant.
After breakfast, you will depart from Akan for Kushiro (釧路). Kushiro is famous for its seafood and dairy products and one of the main attractions include the Akan International Crane Center. Visit Akan International Crane Center (阿寒国際ツルセンター ) where you can see Red-crested Cranes, one of the symbolic birds in Japan. This center is a sanctuary, breeding center and museum. Many tourists flock to the center just to capture the phenomenal images of the beautiful cranes! So be sure to bring your camera.
Next stop is the historic Washo Market(和商市场). It is a collection of over 80 shops in a portside marketplace and is filled with a variety of fresh seafood, fruits & vegetables, dried snacks and many famous delicacies. The market has plenty of fresh seafood so take the opportunity to build your own sashimi bowl! This unique sashimi bowl is known as “Katte-don”, and it is a local specialty. Walk around the market slowly and something is sure to catch your eye! Lunch will be arranged on your own.
Continue your journey to Obihiro (帯広). Step into the “Candy Kingdom” and visit Ryugetsu Sweetpia Garden (柳月 スイートピアガーデン) which is the most famous sweets shop in Hokkaido. You can purchase freshly made sweets and observe the sweet making process!
After that, hotel check in and dinner will be served at hotel restaurant. (Kaiseki)
This morning, leave for Chitose for shopping. Visit Chitose Rera Outlet Mall (千歳アウトレットモール・レラ ) where you can find over 400 brands ranging from fashion to lifestyle products. In the afternoon, move on to Noboribetsu. Visit Noboribetsu Hell Valley (登別地獄谷). 20,000 years ago, Mt. Kuttara erupted, leaving a massive crater 450m wide with an area of 24.5 acres, bordered by red stone cliffs, with countless holes of all sizes through which boiling water shoots out with a roar, resembling hell. About 10,000 tons of hot spring in various kinds is gushing out a day and supplies to accommodations in the Onsen town area, where you will stay tonight. Do soak yourself in the Onsen which is good for your health.
This morning, transfer to Otaru (小樽). Take a stroll along the Otaru Canal (小樽運河) which has century old stone warehouses by the sides. Continue your journey to Sakaimachi Street (境町通り). Visit the Kitaichi Glass Shop (北一硝子) and be fascinated by the high quality glass tableware and artworks created by skilled craftsmen. Then to Otaru Music Box Hall (オルゴール堂) where there are beautifully crafted music boxes displayed for your choice to purchase. In the afternoon, leave for Sapporo. Visit the Former Hokkaido Government Building (北海道庁旧本庁舎), a beautiful American neo-baroque redbrick architecture. Architectural details such as the warped glass created and double doors stored in an ornamental frame exude functional beauty. After this, visit Odori Park (大通公園), which stands in the heart of Sapporo and is a pleasant green space between Sapporo’s tall buildings. You will pass by the Clock Tower (札幌時計台), which is the symbol of Sapporo city. Tonight, enjoy Luxury Crab Kaiseki Dinner at the local restaurant.
After breakfast at hotel, transfer to Kiroro Snow Park* (雪遊び広場). You can enjoy playing Snow tube and Sleigh there! (Admission inclusive)
In the afternoon, transfer back to Sapporo and free at leisure.
*If the snow condition is not good, you will go to Shiroi Koibito Park & Sapporo Jogai Market instead.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure.
