Upon arrival at Kushiro Airport, coach transfer to Lake Akan, visit Akan International Crane Centre (阿寒国際鶴センター) where you can see Red-crowned Crane or Tancho, one of the symbolic birds in Japan. This is a great joy for locals to see as they only show up in winter seasons. After that, transfer to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred to Lake Shikaribetsu Kotan (しかりべつ湖コタン), an annual winter event held in Shikaoi Town, Hokkaido. The event features the ice village with igloo lodges, bar, Onsen bath, and special events which are all made with ice and snow! Finally, transfer to Tokachigawa for hotel check-in and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
This morning, enjoy the Lake Akan Smelt Fishing (ワカサギ釣り) on the Ice Lake which is a special activity only available during winter time. Fish you catch will be fried for you in tempura batter on the spot and the delicious freshly-fried fish. Enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, head to Lake Mashu (摩周湖), which is one of the world’s clearest, most transparent lakes. Pass by Mt Io (硫黄山), an active 500 meters high volcano, where acid smokes and solid sulphur can be observed. At the end of the day, transfer to the hotel for check in and enjoy your dinner [Buffet] at the hotel restaurant.
After breakfast, visit Cape Notoro (能取岬), the best place to see drift ice. Take a ride on Drift Ice Cruise (流氷観光船おーろら). This cruise can break ice up to one meter thick on the frozen Sea of Okhotsk. A variety of wild animals can be seen during the drift ice season. Next, transfer to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, visit the Abashiri Prison Museum (網走監獄博物館). Abashiri Prison was built in the 1890s to house inmates who were forced to labor on the construction of the central road in this area. Thereafter, transfer to the hotel for check in and enjoy your dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Notes: ** Drift Ice Museum is arranged when the cruise gets cancelled.
After breakfast, transfer to Sounkyo. Visit the Ginga Ryusei Falls (銀河流星の滝), also known as “Husband and Wife falls”. These are the most beautiful waterfalls in the Valley of Sounkyo and you get to witness iced waterfall which only happens in Winter Season. This afternoon, lunch at Asahikawa Ramen Village (旭川 ラーメン村), where 8 of Asahikawa’s most well-known ramen shops are in one location (own expenses). After lunch, continue your journey to Asahiyama Zoo (旭山動物園), one of the most visited zoo by locals and has special enclosures designed for both the animal and visitor to get closer. Finally, transfer to Furano for hotel check in and dinner will be served at the hotel restaurant.
This morning, free at your leisure until afternoon.

After lunch, proceed to Furano Cheese Labo for Ice Cream Making. Next, visit Chitose Outlet Mall RERA. You can enjoy a variety of fashion, food and entertainment options here. Thereafter, transfer to Sapporo city for dinner and for the hotel check-in & enjoy your own free & easy time and dinner at Sapporo city.
After breakfast, transfer to Otaru. Pass by Otaru Canal (小樽運河). Visit Otaru Yukobo (小樽遊工房) and have a DIY Music Box Experience. After that, visit Sakaimachi Street (堺町通り散策). Here, you’ll find many western-style buildings that currently house many restaurants, cafes, boutiques and museum. Lunch is at your own expense during free & easy time at Otaru. After that, transfer back to Sapporo city and visit Shiroi Koibito Park where the well-known Hokkaido confectionery, Shiroi Koibito Cookie, is produced. From here, you can experience Cookie Decorating with your own designs. Thereafter, enjoy your own free & easy time and dinner at Sapporo city.

Before departing to Chitose Airport, visit Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival. Here, you can enjoy watching illuminated ice sculptures made by clear water and joining some special events.
